Shelby Wright received an AS in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University-Denver. She went on to work and learn in a variety of settings ranging from fine dining to retirement living preparing, specialized meals for residents. She then continues her education in the field of nutrition and completed a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics at Arizona State University, followed by a dietetic internship at Virginia State University where she received a graduate certificate in Food and Nutrition Science. Shelby is passionate about the power of food and how it directly correlates to health. It is all about food, flavor and finding creative solutions to promote healthy lifestyle changes. Shelby believes that good food is just that, it should taste good and be good for you. She enjoys the creative freedom cooking gives you and loves teaching people that healthy food is also delicious and does not have to be complicated. She enjoys using her culinary background to tailor recipes to fit within individual needs and provide an individualized approach to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Shelby has a keen interest in epigenetics, nutrigenomics and the gut microbiome and plans to pursue those areas of interest in the future. Outside of work you will find her in the great outdoors hiking and spending time with her family. Some fun facts about Shelby- she played roller derby for many years before becoming a mom, she loves to travel, try new things, and relishes a good cup of coffee, a glass of wine and the chance to take a nap.
